Summer School 2016
  • áBDE Summer school starts on Monday, June 20th and runs thru Thursday, July 21st.
  • Meets Monday thru Friday except as noted below for the 4th of July.
  • Supplies to bring: á2 pencils, 2 folders, 2 notebooks, l bx crayons, 1 bxá8 ct markers, 1 pr of headphones. (these items do not need to be new)
  • áSummer school will be Monday - Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 12 noon.
  • áNo bus transportation is provided. áDrop off begins at 8:15 a.m. to the south playground.á
  • Prompt pick up is at noon from the south playground. If you did not return the form indicating how your child will leave summer school, please send a note the first day of summer school.
  • áStudents whose parents signed them up to go to Summer Playground will be directed to Playground Sign-In áat noon. Students can either eat a school lunch or bring a bag lunch from home.á
** New this year - a free lunch will be served to any student wanting to eat lunch at school 12-12:30, parents need to write a note to the teacher telling us your child will be staying to eat lunch, pick up then would be at 12:30 p.m. áThe free lunch will be available to students in the community from 12:30 - 1 pm.
There will be no school on Monday, July 4th or Tuesday July 5th due to the Holiday.
Planning Ahead for the 2016-17 School Year
Approved calendars for the 2016-17 school year are located on the left of this screen under the calendar tab. áPlease use those calendars when planning family vacations, as well as medical and dental appointments. áWe ask that children do not miss school for any reason except illness. áIf they must be out of school for two or more days, áparents need to complete aná"Request for Absence" form and have it approved by the school principal two weeks prior to the absence.​ áIf they must be out of school for appointments, ask at your appointment time for a school excuse you can present to the school office upon returning from the appointment.

Returning students and new studentsámust attend oneáof the followingáFORMS & FEES days in Augustáto complete their registration for school. áThose students who do not attend one of these days will not be allowed to start school on Septemberá1stáuntil they complete the Forms & Fees process.ááSCHOOL PICTURES WILL BE TAKEN ON THESE DAYS FOR ID'S.ááPurchasing school pictures for family members is optional.

New Student Registration Going on Now For Fall 2016
If you live in the Village of Brown Deer and have a child who will be 4 years or older by September 1, 2016 they are eligible to attend Brown Deer Schools. New student registration is happening now and we encourage all new students to register as early as possible so they are on our July mailing list and we can properly plan for them. Register at our Districts Administrative Offices, 8200 North 60th Street ábetween 7:30 - 3:30 M-F. Children must be registered by the parent or legal guardian with whom they live with. áYou will need an original Birth Certificate for your child, Immunization Records, Parent picture ID. áYou will also need to show a valid lease agreement or current mortgage statement and finally you will need to provide a second proof such as current month's utility bill, auto or house insurance statement. áIf you have questions, contact our District offices at 371-6761.

We are not able to register new students who do not live in the Village of Brown Deer. For more information about non-resident students, please call 371-6772.á

BDE Students who Attend HS Sporting Events
BDE families are welcome and encouraged to attend HS sporting events. áAny Brown Deer Elementary Student who attends a High School sporting event such as a basketball game,ámust attend with an adult. áStudents must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.á Unsupervised students or students that act in an inappropriate way may be asked to leave the grounds. áAll elementary students must sit with an adult for the duration of the game. áWe encourage students to be great spectators the Brown Deer Way. á GO FALCONS!!!!
